Located a block away from our manufacturing facility is the Hesed House of Aurora IL. This facility is the second largest homeless shelter in the state of IL and the largest outside of Chicago. The reputation of this wonderful facility reaches past IL. The organization structure in place has set the model for other facilities to follow throughout the US. Their campus of centralized, highly skilled professionals collaborate to provide the tools necessary to help individuals and families break free of the shackles binding them to homelessness. With the help of professional staff, alliances with outside agencies over a thousand people are served through Hesed House’s shelter and three housing programs annually. At our Comprehensive Homeless Resource Center, people receive support related to housing, support systems, life skills, legal issues, physical/emotional abuse, mental/physical health, and much more.
Recently, the Hesed House reached out to us with a request- two restroom trailers right away that they desperately needed to help their guests through the winter. How could we say no! Everyone on our team really came together on this one. Within a few days all materials were allocated and prints were drafted. Out on the production floor, two 2-station restroom trailers quickly came together. When all was said and done, we delivered our neighbor two trailers in a little over two weeks. Just in time to help at their annual Thanksgiving lunch event.
From everyone here at Comforts, THANK YOU Hesed House for bringing your need to us. And to everyone reading this blog, check out their website: Home – Hesed House. If you are looking for a organization to send come caring help to.. this is certainly one that needs it.
All our best,
Aaron Ward
